Dawnwalker guide
Dawnwalker first-run checklist
Prepare for your first Dawnwalker run: learn what spends time, when to explore freely, and what to check before you finish a major action.
Short answer
Do not treat the 30-day limit as a real-time countdown. Explore, fight and learn the route before you spend a story unit. The game marks time-consuming actions with an hourglass, and Coen has a different set of options by day and night.
- Free preparation
- Exploration and combat
- Time warning
- Hourglass icon
- Forms
- Human by day, vampire by night
First-run checks
Swipe sideways to see every column.
| Before you do this | Check this |
|---|---|
| Finish a quest step | Look for an hourglass and read its cost |
| Switch day or night | Make sure the other form opens a route you plan to use |
| Follow a new marker | Decide which person or story this run is protecting |
What to do
- Install the launch update and check the release time shown by your own platform before starting.
- Take time to explore the opening area. Walking, searching and combat do not move the story clock on their own.
- Read the hourglass before a quest-ending action, a time-of-day change or another marked choice.
- Pick one or two people or story threads for this run instead of trying to clear every marker.
Prepare before you pay the time cost
A long detour across Vale Sangora does not automatically cost a story unit. Scout the route, practise the combat and gather what you need before you choose the marked action that ends or advances an objective.
Your first run will leave stories unfinished
The developers expect players to miss people and outcomes. Choose a few priorities, see where those decisions lead, and leave the other threads for a later route.
If you are stuck
The timer is making me rush
Keep exploring. The clock moves through marked decisions, not through ordinary roaming or combat.
I do not know which form I need
Check the route and objective. Human Coen uses weapons and rune magic; vampire Coen has supernatural combat and movement powers.
